Summary

At The Sign Pack (www.thesignpack.com), the Graphic Designer is part of a Design Team Unit and assists the cluster in providing design layouts and creative items according to job tickets and project manager requests. The scope includes designing new sign projects and converting existing layouts to production-ready files.

The designer communicates with his/her supervisors constantly to see that quality objectives are fulfilled, assists with and accepts tasks delegated by the Project Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent education in a creative/artistic area.
  • Familiarity with online tools and computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
  • Full understanding of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • 3+ year experience as a graphic designer, freelancer experience is acceptable provided you have a portfolio.
  • Exposure to vehicle graphics and general signage designs is a plus.
  • Experience with dimensional signage is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to work in groups.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret job tickets and design briefs in English.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Raster vs Vector & RGB vs CMYK
  • Highly efficient and organized.
  • Ability to think and reason strategically.
  • Ability to calculate figures, amounts and to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Spends up to 8+ hours a day operating a computer keyboard.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • The Graphic Designer reports to the Team Lead.
  • The Graphic Designer may have Senior responsibilities in special occasions, if required by department head.
  • The Graphic Designer assists and accepts delegated tasks from Project Manager.
Authority
The Graphic Designer has the authority and responsibility to develop, implement, and delegate all systems that will allow him/her to perform and enhance the day to day operations of his/her position. These include but are not limited to establishing relationships with entities that are in a position to use or recommend company services following company guidelines and requirements and other activities necessary to maintain the effectiveness of his/her department within the constraints of prudent/ethical business practices and budget allowances.
Responsibilities
A responsibility is an area you oversee and administrate:
  • Ensure all designs and layouts produced reflect scope of work required by customer.
  • Assist other designers by ensuring that design production goals are achieved.
  • Assist Project Managers in any related and required tasks to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all paperwork is organized and job progress is maintained so as to meet management and customer expectations.
  • Ensure company adopted customer service principles are understood and implemented through the design processes.
  • Ensure all customers are satisfied with the services performed.
  • Ensure all incoming calls related to sales/design activities are responded to immediately and followed up promptly.
Principal Duties
  • Follow and manage in-house calendar of routine reports and activities that are to be completed.
  • Complete design projects within assigned time limits.
  • See that produced design and layouts are completed and approved by end-user.
  • Respond to all design assignments within time specified by the supervisor.
  • Have all designs and layouts produced and transmitted within the due dates defined by the job ticket, or if not possible notify all related parties within as to when they will be available.
